The JOB mock exams simulated the real exams and prepared me for almost any scenario. The actual exam stems seemed more straightforward than what we practiced. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! I receive my oral board exam results this morning, and I was thrilled to have passed!
I signed up for JOB a few weeks before my second attempt at the oral boards. I had tried the Ho course (couldn’t follow his lectures, the book was too dense and outdated, and the oral exams were inconsistent in material and teaching techniques.) I had also studied about a third to half of UBP (used the book and listened to several of the videos, which I liked very much and helped to fill in some of my knowledge gaps.) What I still needed was direct instruction. There is no substitute for one on one tutoring with a good teacher. Without a doubt, the JOB course is the reason I passed my oral boards. Not only are the instructors knowledgeable, but they are also caring! On a couple of occasions, I had to change my practice exam time, and the doctors were flexible and accommodating. Each instructor brought their own style of personal instruction to the course while following a structured outline of the material that was pertinent to the exam. This course and the knowledge I gained was invaluable!
Thank you so much to all of you for your instruction and investment in my future. I realize this isn’t the most lucrative opportunity in medicine, and you are all doing this because you care! My family and I will always be grateful for your effort! I enjoyed working with each of you, and I hope I get to meet you at an anesthesia conference sometime!

I was encouraged by a colleague and friend to use JOB as a resource for the daunting task of taking and passing the oral exam. I took this advice to maximize my chance of first-attempt success, and I’m happy to report that JOB enabled me to do just that!
Due to the pandemic setback and the fact that I’m in private practice with a busy home life, I knew I would need the flexibility and high-yield study that JOB could provide.
In addition to the mock exams, I used the JOB Applied Exam Comprehensive Manual and the Must Know Cases book to reinforce my knowledge and correct any deficiencies I had developed over time. The mock exams were critical to ensuring success on test day – I cannot stress this enough. The examiners were professional, flexible, and gave excellent and honest feedback. You are a lifesaver. The first time I took the Oral Board Exam I relied on going through a few manuals with little to no actual practice. Big mistake! Going with the comprehensive Track 1 gave me the opportunity to experience multiple mock exams. Just Oral Boards was a complete game-changer for me. I previously failed my first attempt at the oral board exam because I thought I could do it on my own by studying didactics, reading, and rehearsing to myself. That was EXACTLY the wrong approach. I definitely made the right choice by choosing JOB to help with my oral board preparation. Signing up for Track 1, I was reintroduced to a wide range of must-know topics and clinical scenarios. Also critical for my preparation was being examined by the many different examiners at JOB–hence, experiencing different examining styles. They were also excellent teachers. I want to sincerely thank Dr. Tran’s diverse team of oral board examiners for all of their hard work in helping me build the knowledge and confidence I needed to pass the oral exam. The JOB course was a bit rigorous, but it was all worth it. I think the skype video format was what helped the most. It really recreates the real test experience. The instructors were amazing, super-knowledgeable, and the feedback they provided not only helped me be prepared for the exam, but be a better anesthesiologist. Easily one of the best investments I made in my life. I highly recommend it to anyone planning on taking the oral boards. I decided I needed help after struggling on my own — I turned to Just Oral Boards after discussion with many of my peers who used this program to pass. I selected track six and got to studying and practicing with the just oral board examiners. I soon realized how deficient I was in certain area and it motivated me to read further and push myself. The best way to prepare for the oral boards is to simulate the real exam with someone who can give personalized feedback. Most people don’t have this type of resource, especially being in private practice so Just Oral Boards is the next best thing. Despite having a busy work schedule in addition to having two young children, I sent requests to Dr. Tran for the days and times that worked best for me. The Skype sessions were exactly what I needed to pass because the JOB examiners were able to identify my knowledge gaps and weaknesses, so over the course of track 6 and the 3-day weekend course, my improvement was dramatic and ultimately led me to become a board-certified anesthesiologist after having failed the oral boards prior. Comparing your program with other review books and programs, nothing can compare to performing mock oral exams one-on-one. JOB works! I failed last year after being told that I was ready and had all the tools to succeed. I don’t ordinarily write testimonials but I really had to in this case. I took Part 2 several times and each time was a fail for different reasons. At first, it was from an absence of preparation. Then it was because I wasn’t practicing enough. Finally, the penultimate time I took it, I thought I knew my stuff and had practiced enough and still a FAIL. I was beyond frustrated. I had been told about the J.O.B. course before but I was too stubborn to sign up. But at this point I was desperate. I’m really pleased to say that after taking J.O.B., the dreaded email post-Part 2 Exam finally said PASS. I would attribute this to a couple of things. Firstly, the course material presented the massive amounts of information that you need to internalize and recall in a very readable and useful manner. It was detailed, but not too detailed, which made recollection of the knowledge needed to answer questions easier. Secondly, the meat of the course are the Skype sessions in which you are able to not only practice but also get feedback from a diverse group of individuals. The combination of the factual knowledge as well as repetition and practice as well as critique, I thought really helped me pass this time. I wish I had taken this course for my first attempt. It would have saved a lot of time and anguish. Thank you again!

Your series of mock exams and critical feedback made the biggest impact in my preparation. Although I also practiced with friends and colleagues, the JOB scenarios most realistically simulated the testing challenges (if not exceed in difficulty). The JOB faculty focused on how to answer the different types of questions appropriately and efficiently. It was a challenging experience but absolutely worth it.
